With the HTC Imagio having just launched on Verizon, I thought I would link to this video walk-through of the HTC Imagio software suite and the V-Cast Mobile TV service that comes included.
I just wrote up a post about the Samsung Intrepid launching on Sprint, and I noticed in the specs that it had Microsoft’s TellMe service right on-board. For those of you not in-the-know, Microsoft TellMe is a voice app that lets you interact with your Windows Phone entirely by talking and being spoken to by your phone. As you can see in this video, it mimics other services that are available on other platforms (see MyCaption and vLingo on the BlackBerry), but it does a pretty good job on the Samsung Omnia in this video.
When you throw that app onto a Snapdragon-1GHz-enabled device, it might speed up considerably, although it’s hard to tell how much of the lag time is data connection and how much is processor power. Looks cool, though.
The new HTC Pure on AT&T has just received a nice video walk-through that I found on YouTube. Aside from the usual AT&T bloatware, they’ve customized the interface quite nicely.
PocketNow has posted a comprehensive walk-through of the newest build of HTC’s TouchFlo 3D UI replacement for Windows Mobile. The star feature here is the new Twitter tab, which we’ve seen on the HTC Hero, and it supports status updates, short URLs and TwitPic.
This latest build, #1919, also brings a few new enhancements to the robust UI:
Animated wallpaper and weather wallpaper option for Home tab
Redesigned calendar tab
New email tab with longer message previews
Large, more colorful icons for the swipe action
The addition of Footprints tab
Album adds Facebook integration for photos and YouTube integration for videos
I believe there’s a ROM floating around XDA somewhere if you want to check it out.
The very cool video sharing app, Qik, has just received a major overhaul that includes a whole new, sleek user interface and better integration with social networks. Qik is great at taking vids and uploading them to your favourite sites, but the most remarkable feature is the live video streaming from your phone to their website. Very neat.
The screenshot shows a great looking UI with finger-friendly icons for all the touchies out there, and they’ve specifically improved integration with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. They seem to have fine-tuned it for the Samsung Omnia, but it should work nicely on any WinMo device.
More than just a player, Kinoma Play everything you need to find and play video, audio and pictures, whether they’re on your phone, on your home PC, or on your favorite web services.
In the beginning, there was an awesome media player for Windows Mobile called ‘BetaPlayer‘. It could handle all kinds of audio and video codecs that the mobile version of Windows Media Player couldn’t. Eventually BetaPlayer turned into TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player), a freeware media app. And it was truly awesome. Then, all of a sudden, TCPMP dropped support for files downloaded from iTunes for legal reasons, and TCPMP became a little less useful. From this, the commercial CorePlayer was born. CorePlayer allows developers to collect some revenue and pay licensing fees for proprietary codec support.
I’ve been using CorePlayer for quite some time now and I love it. It does everything I want it to do: movies, video clips, audio files, YouTube, podcasts, JPGs, FLV files… and tonnes more.
G-Scroll is a software application that lets you use the capacitive portion of your Fuze (Diamond, Touch Pro) to navigate and launch programs from just the capacitive portion. It adds a level of functionality to the dpad of your Fuze (Diamond, Touch Pro) that’s really worthwhile. Check out the review after the jump for more information!

Here’s another exclusive video from CTIA 2009 of the Samsung Propel Pro – a Windows Mobile 6.1 device featuring a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, and enterprise applications. The Samsung Propel Pro will be on sale for an expected $149.99 in April (customer’s pay $199.99 and after mail-in rebate, receive $50 AT&T promotion card).
The Samsung Propel Pro will likely be released as part of AT&T’s spring lineup.
Another exclusive thanks to Nan Palmero – a preview of the HTC Touch Diamond 2.
The HTC Touch Diamond 2 features an improved version of TouchFLO 3D, a better camera, a microSD slot, and a larger battery (hooray! More battery life!).
Another video directly from CTIA 2009 from our own Nan Palmero. This time we’re taking a look at the HTC Snap. HTC says that with the Snap they were trying to keep all the good stuff about the HTC Dash but with bigger keys, same small, smooth frame, integrated volume keys, and a 2MP camera.
Our good friend and contributor Nan Palmero was nice enough to get us a one on one look at the HTC Touch Pro2 at this years CTIA!
I must say, this device looks super impressive to me — larger screen, prettier curves, a tilt screen, much more responsive… I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
Be sure to check out the above video for a complete rundown of the HTC Touch Pro2 straight from CTIA.
Dying to find out what the Windows Mobile Marketplace will be all about? How it will work? Microsoft has posted a video showing you just that! In the video are details telling how the system works, how to pay, how refunds work, various carrier content, and info on their app guarantees!
Check it out right here after the jump, but be sure you have Silverlight installed first!
Now, here at WinMo Cool, we often complain that Windows Mobile’s biggest problem is advertising. It doesn’t hype itself at all! I’ve seen so many super awesome BlackBerrycommericals and, though I’m ashamed to admit it, there have been some pretty cool iPhonecommercials as well.
Well, this is the new Windows Mobile commercial.
I want to like it, but I have to say… I just don’t get it. I mean, I get it… I guess. I get what they’re trying to do. As a bit of a WinMo expert, I can understand that they’re trying to play up the new cloud system, they’re trying to let you know that you can communicate with your Xbox 360. You can upload your pictures from your phone to the internet in a single click… but I don’t know if that really comes across as clearly as they’d like to think it does. It’s a little too artsy for me, I think. Maybe I’m being unfairly harsh. What do you think? Does it make sense to you? Does it make you want to run out and buy a WinMo phone?
