This video shows a port of HTC’s TouchFlo 3D version 1.3 running on a Samsung Omnia 2. TouchFlo looks quite comfortable on the Omnia 2, but 1.3 is a pretty old version. No word on where you could nab this, but if I find out I’ll post the link.
This video from PocketNow shows how users can now select text from within TouchFlo 3D 2.5 build 1920. It works similar to the iPhone, with a selector popping up that you can stretch to engulf the text you wish to select.
Canadian company Probex, whose slogan is “putting the X in sexy devices”, has just begun selling themes for TouchFlo 3D through their website. There are a few available now, including the pink and blue ones you see above.
You’ll need to have TouchFlo 3D version 2.1 on WVGA screen to enjoy these new skins. Take a look at the video that follows to see what the hubbub is about, or visit Probex’s website to check out all their TouchFlo 3D themes.
Verizon will soon be launching the HTC Touch Diamond!
Everything’s what you expect from the HTC Touch Diamond at this point – TouchFLO 3D interface, HSPA/Edge/Wi-Fi, Windows Media Player, 3.2 MP camera with flash, auto focus and video, built-in GPS, weighs 110 grams, 2.8 inch (640 x 480) VGA display, runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro – but there’s been a curious drop in the memory from 256mb to 128mb.
I am curious to see how well stylus based phones can do in the market right now. What do you think – do stylus phones stand a chance?
In case you’ve forgotten (I dare you to tell me you’re from Russia but have forgotten!), the HTC Max 4G will be available for the Russian WiMAX network “Scartel” (Yota) on November 26th it’ll be the worlds first ever integrated GSM / WiMAX handset. The network will enable a rich multimedia experience and a high quality telephone connection. It’s currently sitting on the HTC website just waiting its turn.
Alltel has jumped on the bandwagon and added the HTC Touch Pro to their smartphone line up. The popular device is going for $279.99 (on contract, of course) with a $100 rebate.
Not many differences with this version but a tweak to the TouchFLO 3D UI from the carrier.
The good folks over at XDA-Developers have created a hack that brings full TouchFLO 3D capabilities to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1! TouchFLO 3D on the Xperia means a more finger-friendly UI, YouTube usability and a ton of other awesome enhancements.
If you’re an Xperia user, I suggest heading over to the XDA-Developers thread now and downloading this for yourself!
This video from pocketnow shows off some of the cool software on the new HTC Touch HD. And, since the HTC Touch HD doesn’t have a hardware keyboard, be sure to check out the part of the video that takes a look at how usable the on-screen keyboard is — looks great!
This device seems very similar to many of the new Touch devices from HTC and actually runs the same version of TouchFLO 3D as the Samsung XPERIA X1.
According to Engadget, HTC’s Touch HD now available in the UK for £514.99. We may never see it here in North America, but we’re still allowed to oooh and aaah about it, right? I’m gonna go right ahead and do that now…
Ooooooh…
3.5mm headphone jack, TouchFLO 3D, 390 mins of 3G talk and 450 hours of 3G standby
Aaaaaaah…
512MB of ROM, 288MB of RAM, 5MP camera, 800×480 touchscreen, WiFi, GPS
Okay, I’ll leave my fauning at that for now.

The HTC Opal has finally made its way to the FCC though it appears to be lacking any kind of fanfare from consumers and phone enthusiasts alike.
Why the lack of excitement? 200 MHz TI OMAP 850 processor, 2.8-inch QVGA, 2MP camera, 128 MB RAM/256 MB ROM… how boring! Might as well save some money and get a plain old Touch. What’s new? Well, not really much — Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the new TouchFLO 3D UI, and a d-pad. Nothing to write home about, certainly.
I, like many others, think this one will stay nice and cozy on the shelf. What do you think?
