It’s still the calm before the Windows Phone 7 storm but there’s yet another peek at the new HTC HD7 and yet more specs courtesy of someone within o2 Germany. The 1GHz CPU is confirmed, as is 8GB of on-board storage (presumably still no external storage), a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi and that 4.3″ screen.
There’s also a mention of Dolby Mobile Sound, so this could mark the end of tinny music, and there’s also details of a German launch just two weeks from now, which could kinda tie-in with this October 11th date that’s been floating about.

Surprise, surprise! CNET’s Bonnia Cha has recommended the Samsung Omnia (on Verizon Wireless) over the new and much anticipated BlackBerry Storm. Cha says she prefers the Omnia because its operating system is a bit quicker to respond:
Though slightly more expensive, Verizon customers looking for a touch-screen smartphone will get a better user experience and faster performance from the Samsung Omnia than the RIM BlackBerry Storm.
