Two new themes for Spb Mobile Shell 3.5.3 have popped up: Sketch (above) and GTX Sense (below). Intended to resemble an artist’s sketchpad the Sketch Theme (from XDA users DOC3000 & Warhammer83) includes several cool widgets, including an analog clock, black temperature, weather, sound profiles, notifications, lock, SPB Menu shortcut (elephant or tree drawing), and link backgrounds (note or sketch).

You can download the Sketch theme for Spb Mobile Shell from the XDA forums here.

spb_mobile_shell_theme_sketch_2 GTX Sense is a port of the GTX theme from the HTC Sense UI, now made for Spb Mobile Shell. This theme, also from DOC3000, is not released yet, but you can keep track if the development  of the GTX Sense Theme for Spb Mobile Shell here. Looks very cool

ShellSwitcher101beta_screenshot

This nifty little shell switcher has just been released in beta over at XDA forums. According to the developer, the ShellSwitcher utility lets you switch between well known shells like SPB Mobile Shell, Titanium, Touch Flo 3D, HTC Sense and the classic today screen. ShellSwitcher will automatically detect the shell UIs you have installed and allow you to choose between them from a menu.

The app is in beta, so be warned! You can download the free ShellSwitcher for Windows Mobile from the XDA website.

New Spb Mobile Shell Panel for Xperia X1

xperia_spb_panel_1Users who cherish their Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 will probably bristle when I say that I was never really blown away by the Panel experience on the X1. That said, if you’re using them you probably find the Spb Mobile Shell panel among the most useful.

Well, time to add some variety to your panels with this new Spb Mobile Shell panel for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Simply download the files, unzip them into \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell directory of your device. Next, tap the Settings icon, click Customize Menu, and enable “My Menu.”  You’ll need to restart for the changes to take effect.

Software Spotlight: Spb Weather

I love this software! And, as you already know, Spb makes plenty of things that I love dearly and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

Spb Weather is a powerful weather Today plug-in. You can customize weather views, skins and even weather forecast data sources. Spb Pocket Plus users can save space on their Today screens running Spb Weather in a form of a separate tab.

Read on “Review: Spb Weather” for the full review including plenty of screenshots!

Not a big fan of the look of TouchFLO 3D on your HTC Touch HD? You’re in luck! Spb Mobile Shell has just updated their software (to version 2.1.3) and is now completely compatible with the HTC Touch HD.

I can only imagine (as I don’t have a Touch HD myself) that it would look really fantastic on the Touch HD’s huge WVGA screen.

If you’ve got a Touch HD, try it out and be sure to let me know!
