More Windows Mobile 6.5 shots have been leaked today and we’re glad to see that they’re nice and clear albeit not that awe-inspiring. I’m personally glad to see some screen shots that don’t include the terrifying angry peacock background — eeesh!
Let’s hope that Microsoft has more up their sleeves than a facelift of honeycomb tabs and the slightly-goofy-named ‘My Phone‘ application.
Watch the video and judge for yourself: Rayvitto from XDA-Developers.com has put up this Youtube video of what he claims to be the Windows Mobile 6.5 beta ROM in action on his BlueAngel.
What do you think?

While we could complain about the quality of this leaked photo – this is what we have to work with, folks. So kudos to the anon photographer.
Well, in case you can’t spot it right away, this is the long rumoured T-Mobile Shadow II – HTC’s non-touch, WinMo 6.1 standard smartphone. As is rumoured, it supports HotSpot WiFi-based calling on top of a 2.6 inch QVGA display, slide-out 20-key text keyboard, 2MP camera, microSD slot, and quad-band GSM/EDGE.

Remember the Motorola Atila? Motorola’s proposed answer to the iPhone 3G? Well, now that all the buzz has died down (as is the way with so many devices these days), new spy shots have been released as a reminder that this device will actually be coming out… someday.

In case you had any doubts (I know I didn’t) – the Samsung Omnia will be officially coming to Verizon Wireless.
Alright Verizon Wireless customers, put down the new BlackBerry Storm and hear me out, okay? And, while the real specs are still a mystery, we’re still talking about a 5MP camera/camcorder, full HTML browsing, and an expansive touchscreen.
While the Verizon page is linked to by Samsung’s website, the Verizon page itself doesn’t exist… yet. But it will. Oh yes, it will.

According to today’s Wall Street Journal, HP is getting ready to launch a brand new Communicator before the year’s end. Could this be the previously leaked HP OAK that we heard about at the beginning of this year?
From what I can tell, the HP OAK looks to be an HP touchscreen version of the HTC S710 (Vox) — with two keyboards (digital and side-sliding QWERTY). It’s rumoured to have HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth, running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
No more details are known about release date or price, but stay tuned!

According to some interesting rumours today, Windows Mobile 7 may be making its debut this week at the Professional Developers Conference (2008) in Los Angeles, California. Though the main focus of the event is not on Windows Mobile specifically, a ZDNet journalist has this to say about the conference:
Attendees will get a demo of Windows 7 by Windows engineering chief Steven Sinofsky, as well as pre-beta M3 bits to take home. Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie is on tap to outline Microsoft’s Live Framework, the Live Mesh development platform. Windows Server head Bob Muglia is expected to unveil Microsoft’s cloud development platform and explain how Microsoft plans to try to one-up Amazon and Google in this space — via a combination of its Windows Cloud OS, virtualization and a variety of cloud-optimized services. There are sessions on Microsoft’s Oslo modeling strategy and platform, Silverlight 2 for mobile, parallel/concurrent computing and more.
