I just updated to the latest beta version of the absolute best photo viewer for mobile devices, Resco’s Photo Viewer 7 (now in Beta 6). This new version of Photo Viewer has a terrific, finger friendly UI and is absolutely chock-full of features.
It looks like Resco is getting close to releasing this to market, too:
After another leap in development process, we are releasing the last Beta version, Beta 6. If everything will go the right way, the next release will be the final official release, if not, there will be a Release Candidate.
Also from their website:
What was improved:
- gesture rotation (fully animated)
- resize, crop
- drawings
- gamma correction – fixed and working
- more settings (requested by some of you)
- more intuitive and better working upload
- improved memory (RAM) usage
- quicker loading (displaying) of thumbnails
After fixing some bugs we have released another version of Beta 6. What is new:
- Quality stretching was turned off (after we will fix it it will be enabled again)
- Some changes in Upload to (You can upload picture with text drowe in using different characters than latin – Russian, Hebrew…) – please who can try this and let us know
- Not refreshing screen after Set as Homescreen was fixed
Feel free to head over to the Resco site to give Resco Photo Viewer 7 Beta 6 a try for yourself!

Resco’s Photo Viewer v.6 is a must-have on all of my Windows Mobile devices, right back to my PPC 6700, so it was with an ear-to-ear grin that I saw Resco had released a beta version of their soon-to-be-released version 7. I had spotted a few spy shots of the alpha version and it looked good, but I am just tickled pink with the beta copy I just installed on my Xperia X1.
