As part of the new stylized look that Windows Mobile 6.5 will bring to the table, Microsoft has also given a new look and feel to Internet Explorer Mobile.
According to CNET, who recently sat down with Microsoft at CTIA 2009, IE Mobile will look much cleaner, have bigger, more touch friendly icons, and round navigation buttons (as seen in the photo) that will disappear when you’re not using them.
The good? Flash Lite support, copy and paste (zing!)
The bad? No image downloading, notext searching within documents, no tabbed browsing, and no browser add-ons. Booo!
They are, however, aiming to make it faster, which is really what we need with mobile browsing. Well, we’ll have to wait and see the final product. I’m hesitantly excited.
Ooh an unboxing! Always exciting. Even more exciting is the fact that its a video of the unboxing of the Sprint (CDMA radio) version of the Palm Treo Pro. This device hasn’t been available in North America until now.
The Palm Treo Pro from Sprint comes loaded up with the newest version of Windows Mobile 6.1 which features the brand new Internet Explorer Mobile.
Microsoft has begun previewing their newest version of Internet Explorer Mobile (version 6) as a free emulator online. And while it’s no Skyfire, Iris, or Opera… it’s not terrible. It is, at the very least, a huge improvement over Internet Explorer Mobile 5.
I have high hopes for this one, which I was sure I’d never say about Internet Explorer in any incarnation. But here it is, you heard it here first.
IE Mobile 6 features multiple zoom capabilities, better and deeper search integration, enhanced script and AJAX support, support for full fidelity desktop rendering, text wrap, Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 for Adobe Flash content, enhanced cursor navigation, touch and gesture support (pan support), and switch between mobile and desktop modes.
