The second device we used in our Windows Phone 7 overview was this, the HTC 7 Mozart. This one has a 3.7″ screen, 8GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera. It has a “unibody” construction and again runs the all-new Windows Phone 7 OS. It seems that all the major players are joining Microsoft in the marketing push – the YouTube site is currently plastered with Windows Phone 7 adverts (see below).
You can buy the HTC 7 Mozart on Orange for free on £35 24-month contracts (see our earlier story for details. Our hands-on video will give you a good idea of what to expect ahead of our full review.

O2 have put live the Windows Phone 7 area of their site, dedicated to the HTC HD7, which they have an exclusive on.
There is lots of info on the phone itself, as well as a chance to win one.
The phone will be available from Thursday (21st October), but it will only be free on £40 a month and above 24 month contracts.

Orange are getting ready for potential Windows Phone 7 buyers with this HTC 7 Mozart page in the Orange Shop. You can get a demo of the handset, spin it around and get more details on the device including the 8GB memory, Dolby mobile and Orange apps.
The HTC 7 Mozart will be exclusive to Orange and you can sign up for updates. The demo system is well worth a try – you can do pretty much everything we were doing yesterday on the handset.

“Okay, lets get some of this confusing stuff out of the way: the Samsung Focus has “only” 8GB of storage available. In talking with Samsung, their position was basically so much of this phone is “cloud based” that 8GB may be sufficient for most people. However, they’re more than glad to suggest that 16GB and higher are probably on the horizon.”

Hmm. This article states that the Samsung Focus has a removable storage slot and that you can take out the 8 GB microSD card, put in a 16 GB microSD card, hard reset the phone, and the card will be usable. The contents of the card are digitally encrypted for performance and security reasons, so you can’t take it out and pop it into another device, but this painful-but-doable method of upgrading the storage on your phone is quite interesting, and quite surprising. I wonder how many other Windows Phone 7 devices will be able to do this? Fingers crossed that HTC is enabling the same type of thing on their phones…(in fact, let me email HTC about that right now).

“The HTC HD7 offers high-fidelity surround sound and a large 4.3″ screen to provide great experiences with music, video and gaming.”

Look familiar? Yeah, this is basically the HTC HD2 with a few tweaks; that’s not a bad thing, mind you, because the HD2 was a hell of a Windows Phone – the best one I’ve ever used in fact. I really like the kickstand concept, because a 4.3 inch screen is pretty good for watching a movie on a plane. The 720p HD video capture is also a nice perk! The HD7 will be available exclusively in the USA from T-Mobile.
- 4.3″, 800 x 480 touchscreen
- 4.8″ x 2.68″ x 0.44″162g
- 512MB ROM/576MB RAM/8GB internal storage
- Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD 8250 1 GHz
- Battery life: WCDMA – Talk time: 320 min/Standby: 320 hrs GSM – Talk time: 380 min/Standby: 310 hrs
- 5MP camera with flash
- HD 720p video
- Kick stand
- Widescreen phone with Surround Sound
More photos after the break.
