ROM Update for Sprint HTC Touch Pro

Sprint_Touch_Pro_ROM_UpdateHTC US has released a new ROM update for the HTC Touch Pro (the original) from Sprint. The new ROM features:

  • TouchFlo 3D updated to improve speed and stability.
  • Dialer application enhanced to improve the handling of incoming calls.
  • Resolves an issue using the “r” and “w” keys on the virtual keypad.
  • Improves contact searching performance.
  • Includes a variety of minor bug fixes.

HTC has also released a hotfix for the HTC Snap boot-up problem. In their words, the fix:

“is designed to correct and prevent a memory block issue that can cause the Sprint Snap to lock up or freeze during boot up.”

Rumour: HTC Snap and Touch Pro2 launch dates for T-Mobile

Though these are only rumours for now, it’s exciting nonetheless: T-Mobile is apparently getting the HTC Snap on July 1st followed closely by the Touch Pro2 on July 22nd!

The HTC Snap, a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard (non-touch) device, features 3G/GSM while the Touch Pro2 (likely to be called the T-Mobile Wing II and replace the original T-Mobile Wing) is a touchscreen WinMo phone with a high res WVGA screen and 3G data speeds. Nice!

Video: HTC Snap exclusive from CTIA 2009

Another video directly from CTIA 2009 from our own Nan Palmero. This time we’re taking a look at the HTC Snap. HTC says that with the Snap they were trying to keep all the good stuff about the HTC Dash but with bigger keys, same small, smooth frame, integrated volume keys, and a 2MP camera.
