I just read over on Engadget that some folks over at ZuneBoards have announced that the Zune HD – and all its predecessors – have been hacked open!
The Zunes have been pried open before, but not to this full extent. According to ZuneBoards, this hack gives developers access to “everything XNA withheld before”, meaning any application that can run on Zune hardware… games, apps, emulators, anything.
This might have implications for Windows Phone 7 when it is released later this year, says WMExperts, as Windows Phone 7 is also a closed environment like the Zune. With this new Zune hack, which allows for limitless side-loading of apps from any source at all, are we looking at the possibility of the same work-around on Windows Phone 7?

Some folks over at XDA have found a hidden registry setting on the HTC HD2 that seems to prove the device supports the latest draft of the “N” WiFi standard. Inside of “HKLM\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Params”, you’ll find “11nModeDisable”… change this from 1 to 0 and it activates the WiFi N support.
They say it’s tested, so go for it and report back!

Uh oh… Looks like the copy protection on apps downloaded from Windows Marketplace isn’t all that hard to break. The “copy protection” consists of deleting the CAB files from your device, and Chainfire over at XDA has managed to work around it already.
Totally useless? Or… totally awesome? I’m gonna go with somewhere in the middle — mostly awesome, arguably useful.
From the above screenshots it looks as though Marchin-PRV has successfully used DOXBox to emulate the x86-class processor on the Symbian handset in order to install and run Microsoft’s Windows 3.1
.
Ouch, Symbian. Ouch.

Now, this is a registry key edit so use at your own risk as we’re never 100% sure of how these things will turn out sometimes.. but if you’re desperate for Internet Sharing (or brave and up for a challenge) try out this trick…
How-to: Getting Internet Sharing to work on your AT&T Fuze, Sprint Touch Pro, HTC Touch Diamond, and Samsung Epix!

The good folks over at XDA-Developers have created a hack that brings full TouchFLO 3D capabilities to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1! TouchFLO 3D on the Xperia means a more finger-friendly UI, YouTube usability and a ton of other awesome enhancements.
If you’re an Xperia user, I suggest heading over to the XDA-Developers thread now and downloading this for yourself!
