Windows Phone 7 Profile: the Samsung Omnia 7

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/…one/glance.aspx

“With a 4.0″ SUPER AMOLED display and thin, light design the Samsung Omnia 7 is great for gaming with Xbox LIVE, listening to Zune music and watching videos.”

OK Samsung, you have me baffled. The specs on the Omnia 7 are virtually identical to the Samsung Focus…yet the exterior design of the casing would seem to target a different sort of market. Any insights here? Maybe one is a North American market device, and one is for Europe/Asia?

  • 4.0″, 480×800 Super AMOLED screen
  • 4.82″ x 2.53″ x 0.43″ 119g
  • 512MB RAM/1GB Flash/8GB internal storage
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD 8250 1 GHz
  • Battery life – Talk time: 3 hrs/Standby: 250 hrs
  • 5MP camera/720p HD video

UPDATE: It looks like the Samsung Focus is coming to North America via AT&T, while the Samsung Omnia 7 is coming to Europe.

Review: Plant Tycoon (Game)

The object of Plant Tycoon is not so different from the goal of Fish Tycoon — only instead of finding the seven magic fish of Isola, you are to discover the four magic plants including the Magic Fruit of Life. Each magic plant will give you permanent enhancements and abilities that will bring fortune and fame to your plant nursery. You discover these magic plants by cross-breeding plants and solving genetic riddles.

You start with a couple of dollars, a handful of seeds, some soil and water. Grow plants, organize and harvest seeds. Monitor the plants health, age and maturity and be careful of dehydration and infestations. Sell some of your creations to fund your research and to buy better supplies to use in your Nursery. Discover the four magic plants and get rich!

Video: AT&T Fuze software tour

Pocketnow has posted the above video of their software tour of the AT&T Fuze. According to them, the Fuze comes with a lot of extra trial-ware games and doesn’t come with Windows Live or Windows Live Messenger. Hrmm. That’s no good! But it does save a bit of grace, apparently, in that it includes an SMS based IM client that does log in to AIM, Y!, and MSN.

Be sure to check out the above video for the full run down of the AT&T Fuze’s software!

Review: Fish Tycoon (Game)

The object of Fish Tycoon game is to discover the seven magic fish of Isola and restore the island to its former glory. It’s simple game – start it up and quickly become a lil fish farmer right away! It’s not time consuming unless you want it to be and the game itself is small so it’s not a big resource hog.

You start with a small selection of fish, some money and a tank. You must breed them, care for them, help them grow, and cure them if they get sick. Along the way you can buy supplies, medicine, research technologies or invest in advertisement to enable you to discover rarer and rarer species until you find the Magic Fish. All of this will be financed by selling exotic hybrids in your shop where cartoon kids come with their parents to tap on cartoon aquarium glass. It’s just like real life!

The game actually runs in real-time, so when your device is turned off or you exit the game, hours later small fish will have grown larger and new surprises await you.
