Engadget’s FCC-scouring bot – OK, probably a sleep-deprived intern – discovered that a device that is very likely the HTC 7 Pro, has gotten approval. That means that the wireless hardware is finalized, but the software probably needs more time to cook…which means it might be earlier in 2011 than we were led to believe. I guess we’ll see!

Engadget is reporting that the HTC HD Mini, reported on as the mini HTD HD2, has passed FCC regulations with North American 3G support. This means that it’s just a matter of striking a deal with a carrier… so who will it be? T-Mobile as a companion to the HTC HD2? Or AT&T to replace the HTC Pure?

PhoneScoop has just found specs for the upcoming LG GM730F, including a link to the full manual which mentions AT&T several times which, combined with the 850/1900MHz HSDPA 3G band support, point to a home on AT&T. Among the GM730F’s specs are a 5mp camera, BlueTooth, WiFi and GPS, and an optical trackpad.

Looks like the HTC has just run the Touch Pro2 (codenamed ‘Rhodium’) by the FCC. Rumour has it that T-Mobile will be calling it the Wing II when it launches though we don’t have a release date for you yet, nor do we have any word on pricing.
Check out the FCC under RHOD100 if you’d like to watch its progress through the FCC. We’ll be sure to keep our eye on it too and if we hear anything you’ll be the first to know!

Oooh — the upcoming HTC Touch Diamond2 has just gone through the FCC – well, the European version of it, at least, which is slated for Q2 this year. The US version for AT&T is apparently in the works but we don’t know anything more about it yet. Hopefully sooner than later!

While we could complain about the quality of this leaked photo – this is what we have to work with, folks. So kudos to the anon photographer.
Well, in case you can’t spot it right away, this is the long rumoured T-Mobile Shadow II – HTC’s non-touch, WinMo 6.1 standard smartphone. As is rumoured, it supports HotSpot WiFi-based calling on top of a 2.6 inch QVGA display, slide-out 20-key text keyboard, 2MP camera, microSD slot, and quad-band GSM/EDGE.

The relatively unheard of Pantech Duo 2 has made its first appearance on the FCC database. And, as often is the case, some unnamed someone was there to snap some high-resolution pictures of the shiny new device for us to oogle!
Sadly, it seems that the shiny bit is one of the only improvements over the original Pantech Duo: QWERTY, dual band 850/1900, GSM/EDGE/WCDMA (supports AT&T’s 3G network), 2MP camera (with video capture), Bluetooth, microSD… nothing new, really but Windows Mobile 6.1.
More: the Pantech Duo 2… with images!
The HTC Opal has finally made its way to the FCC though it appears to be lacking any kind of fanfare from consumers and phone enthusiasts alike.
Why the lack of excitement? 200 MHz TI OMAP 850 processor, 2.8-inch QVGA, 2MP camera, 128 MB RAM/256 MB ROM… how boring! Might as well save some money and get a plain old Touch. What’s new? Well, not really much — Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the new TouchFLO 3D UI, and a d-pad. Nothing to write home about, certainly.
I, like many others, think this one will stay nice and cozy on the shelf. What do you think?
