Samsung Omnia II Coming to Bell

samsung-omnia-IIBGR has posted that the Samsung Omnia II is going to be launching on Bell’s new HSDPA network… soon. Apparently we’re looking at $349 on a 3-year contract or $549 without. While that really doesn’t seem like much of a discount for 3 years of your life, cheer up: soon the dollar will be past par with the greenback and we’ll be able to cherry-pick from US retailers ;)

Bell gets a new 1GB smartphone plan

YEAR DIARY 20071211Good news, Canadians!

Bell’s launched new data plans for BlackBerry and WinMo devices — 1GB of data ($6/MB for roaming in the US and 3 cents per extra MB). Strangely enough is Bell’s next tier offering: 8MB of data for $40. What? That’s right, for $5 less you can opt for only 8MB of data (versus 1GB, remember). The big sell on this one is that it allows tethering with no additional fee.

Sure, it’s pricey at a whopping $45, but show me a better option for those of us who absolutely need to tether.
