Bet you forgot Microsoft would never look back at us poor 6.1 schmucks, eh? Not so!

Microsoft recently released Outlook Mobile Update 1.0, an update for Outlook Mobile on Windows Mobile 6.1 devices. This Outlook Mobile update introduces OTA update capability to Outlook and adds a bunch of Exchange Server 2010 capabilities. Some of the new features are:

  • conversation view
  • free/busy lookup
  • SMS sync
  • enhanced voicemail view

For people who need those features, that’s great, but for the rest of us the key improvement is this slick new UI, with a quick-actions bar, easy folder changing, and quick access to search, all features that come with Windows Mobile 6.5x.

This update will only run if you have an Exchange 2010 account. If you want it, download the Outlook Mobile Update 1.0 here.
