Samsung Omnia HD renamed i8910

Looks like Samsung’s Omnia HD will be losing the ‘Omnia’ part of its name and will now be called the i8910.

The Omnia HD differs from the original Omnia in that it will be running Symbian’s S60 OS rather than Windows Mobile, which is the OS behind Samsung’s original Omnia.

What prompted this change? Looks like Windows Mobile:

To avoid confusion between the original Omnia, which is Windows Mobile, and Omnia HD, which is Symbian, Samsung is deferring to the model number.
