It looks like Microsoft has begun the beta of their new Microsoft ‘My Phone’ cloud service.
Getskybox.com is up but not quite running yet as, presently, you can’t sign up.
It does tell us the following though: The service will be for WinMo 6 and up phones, users will get 200 Mb of storage space, the service looks to be free, you can back up your contacts, calendar, photos, and other info to the Microsoft cloud and can later access and share these things online.

The usefulness of MyPhone (to me) is slightly diminished because of the fact that I already use MS Exchange Server to sync mail, contacts, calendar and tasks in real time. If I didn’t have access of the server through my school, having this would make a huge difference.
That being said, it is a great idea that it has an option to back up photos from my memory card. I don’t store user data like pictures, videos or Office files to the phone itself, and it would be a shame to lose them if I lost the device. Active Sync and the Vista/Win 7 Mobile Device Manager don’t contain an option to sync memory card contents, so this is a welcome addition.
