As promised, we now have a date for the release of the super cool HTC MAX 4G: November 26th!
Why the excitement? Check this out: 800 x 480 screen, 8GB of on-board Flash, two cameras, an FM radio, GPS, WiFi, triband EDGE and… WiMAX SUPPORT! This will officially be the first GSM/WiMAX handset anywhere in the world!
So, what’s the catch? Oh sure, it’ll be available starting with November 26th, but only in Russia’s Yota network. So when do we get it? Huh, Bell? Telus? I’m looking at you, Rogers.

I watched one of the videos (though it was in Russian and I didn’t understand much) but it looked quite smooth for a Windows Mobile powered device. You could watch TV many channels on it and it looked pretty good. I don’t think you can do that on 3G networks, at least not at that speed and video quality. WiMAX is a winner when it comes to wireless video applications.

Wi-MAX is pretty sweet for sure. Though, yeah, I have pretty great 3G speeds on my phone too.
I’d love to see if it’s comparable at all.
